Virtual Reality

Virtual Reality is now a huge new way of experiencing video games. The technology of virtual reality is very advanced and it really does immerse you in what ever game you are playing. Virtual Reality is now a huge success with more and more companies developing VR games and the VR headsets are becoming more available, accessible and more advanced as we speak. But VR wasn't always a huge success. Back in 1995 Nintendo had created the 'Virtual Boy' as it was infamously unsuccessful. The stilt-legged tabletop gaming console, which offered a unique red stereoscopic 3D display, attempted to ride a wave of popular interest in virtual reality. It was a risky businesses decision for Nintendo which didn't pay off. he Virtual Boy sold roughly 770,000 units worldwide during its brief life span. One of the reasons that it was a big failure was that the technology was just not advanced at the time. All of the games on the virtual boy all had a black and red tint made it very unappealing to look and the design of the headset required a table to stand the headset on at all times.

Then in 2014,19 years later virtual reality exploded in popularity.  It all started when Facebook bought Oculus VR for $2 billion. This really made game developers take notice that VR was back and it was here to stay. Then in 2016 more and more VR games were beginning to be released and more companies started to get involved in Virtual Reality.
