Galaxy Game

Galaxy Game is widely regarded as the first ever video arcade game. It was released in 1972 and it was installed in Stanford University. It was created by Bill Pitts and Hugh Tuck. It was developed in September 1971 at Stanford University. It came out just two before the first ever mass produced arcade game Computer Space. In June 1972 the hardware was improved by adding a new processor which was powerful enough to power a maximum of 8 machines.

In 1972 the machine and the rest of the hardware cost a total of $20,000. It cost the player a dime (which is about 10p) to play 1 game and a quarter (which is about 25p) to play three games. It became very popular as people would wait over an hour just to play. The unit was removed in May of 1979 due to a damaged screen.
