Atari 2600
The Atari 2600 was on September 11th in 1977, and it one of the most popular consoles of all time. It has sold over 30 million consoles worldwide. The Atari 2600 was affordable console at the time and it was also one of the most durable consoles as well. The Atari 2600 was also known as the Atari VCS (Video Computer System).
When the console first released in 1977 it was called the Atari VCS and it came with two joysticks, a single pair of paddles, and the two-player Combat cartridge, which contained several tank and plane action games. It also came with eight other games which were based off of some of their most popular arcade games. The games were very simplistic there was enough variety to keep people interested. The first version of the console had a lot of internal RF shielding which is what made it quite heavy, it also had six chrome switches which were the on off switch, the colour black/white, player A difficulty, player B difficulty, select, and reset. In 1977 Atari sold 250,000 units.
The Atari 2600 had one of it not the best list of games for the console almost all of their games are recognized as some the best video games of all time. They include: Space Invaders, Donkey Kong, Mario Bros, Frogger, Pitfall, Asteroids, Battlezone, Pole Position and Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back just to name a few.

This is the original design of the console, Atari did release a newer all black version which was dubbed the 'Darth Vader console'.
