One of the reasons that Pac Man was so successful was that it appealed to all ages, the bright colours is what caught the eye of the children and adults were draw in by the difficulty of game since it was new at the time and people weren't use this type of game. People were also obsessed trying to complete the game. Due to the success of the original Pac Man game, Namco released Ms. Pac Man a year later in 1981 which included new levels and new items to collect and the gameplay was also a lot faster. This what opened the door for all of the different versions of Pacman and all of the different spin offs and re-releases of the game over the years.
